WING Josh Adams is relishing the prospect of giving Leicester Tigers a fright as Worcester Warriors look to go on the attack at a raucous Welford Road today (3pm).

High-flying Leicester will fancy their chances of beating second-from-bottom Warriors who have failed to win away in the Aviva Premiership since March 2016.

But Adams reckons the momentum is with Worcester after registering their first league win of the season last weekend to leapfrog London Irish.

And the 22-year-old does not believe they will be overawed by the enormity of facing third-placed Tigers on their home patch.

“It is probably one of the most intimidating grounds in the Premiership as they have got the biggest capacity,” Adams said.

“I know their supporters are very passionate and sometimes Leicester can get the rub of the green just because of the atmosphere they create up there.

“We know it is going to be a tough place to go, but with the momentum we have taken from the Northampton game it’s a challenge we are really looking forward to.”

Although Warriors have struggled to stop teams from scoring, especially on the road, they have found their feet in attack, notching 19 tries in their past four matches.

Adams crossed the whitewash in Worcester’s bonus-point 30-15 victory over Northampton Saints last weekend.

“Leicester would have seen what we are capable of if we do run the right plays and everything does come together,” the Welshman said.

“We are a very dangerous team when that happens.

“We scored six tries against Quins and four against Northampton and we are a good defensive team as well so I don’t think they will underestimate us.

“I am sure their defence coach would have looked at our attacking style and seen that if we do get the ball into people like Chris Pennell’s hands in space we can create chances and score tries.

“We are going to challenge Leicester defensively as that’s just the nature of our attacking style. It’s difficult for teams to defend us when we get it right so we are going to pressurise them.”

However Adams stressed Warriors cannot afford to have any lapses in concentration against Leicester who have won six of their first eight league games.

“If we dwell on that win against Northampton we could go up to Leicester and get absolutely pummeled,” he said.

“We have got to say to ourselves ‘It’s brilliant to get five points in the bag, but let’s put that to bed now and focus on Leicester.

“In this competition a lapse in concentration for five minutes can cost you 10 or 15 points.

“We have done that a couple of times this season and it’s something that we have worked really hard at rectifying.”
