DIRECTOR of rugby Alan Solomons is delighted to be faced with a selection dilemma ahead of Worcester Warriors’ clash with Gloucester at Sixways on Saturday (3pm).

Solomons has welcomed back Wales wing Josh Adams and Scotland forward David Denton following their exploits in the Six Nations.

While centre Ben Te’o has remained with England, the duo have returned to training at Warriors ahead of the Aviva Premiership fixture.

Solomons said they were “eligible” to play but faces a decision whether to replace them with players who helped Warriors stun league Exeter Chiefs 6-5 win last Saturday.

“Scotland and Wales players will be eligible,” Solomons said.

“Yes (Josh and David) are back in training.

“It is good, but you must bear in mind that when you come off playing at an international level you have got to have a period of adjustment.

“I would much rather have selection headaches than be in a position where I am not sure who to put it. I see that as a positive.”

There are doubts over the fitness of scrum-half Francois Hougaard who sustained a blow to his ankle at Sandy Park.

But Jonny Arr is back available for selection after overcoming concussion.

Lock Will Spencer, who pulled out of the Exeter fixture through illness, is set to return while captain Donncha O’Callaghan is expected to lead the team out despite having stitches in his head.

Solomons said he was “overjoyed” to beat Exeter as the victory also lifted Worcester 12 points clear of bottom club London Irish.

But he insisted his focus had quickly turned to coming up with a plan to challenge in-form Gloucester.

“It was a remarkable performance by the team and a magnificent defensive display,” Solomons said.

“It was not just the tackling as I thought the defensive breakdown work was outstanding.

“The Premiership is an extremely tough competition. You don’t have an easy games.

“Gloucester are a really good side so it will be another tough fixture.

“We have put the Exeter game behind us and have been preparing for this match.

“You enjoy the moment and the players deserved to.

“But it has gone now and from Monday we finished the review and the focus was firmly on the game ahead.

“Obviously we want to do well in front of our own supporters and we are determined to do so.”
