OLLIE Lawrence has been promoted to England under 20s and will win his first cap in their battle with Scotland in the Six Nations on Friday (7.30pm).

The 18-year-old centre was originally called up to the under 18s squad but will now step up an age group to represent his country.

The academy ace will be in the starting line-up alongside fellow Worcester Warriors player Will Butler, who captains the side.

Warriors youngster Ted Hill also starts while James Scott and Beck Cutting are named on the bench, with the latter preparing for what would be his maiden cap if he features.

England have so far recorded bonus-point victories in their opening two fixtures against Italy and Wales.

Head Coach Steve Bates said: “We are looking for another step forward in terms of our intent to play rugby. We had a much-improved performance against Wales.

"But we are still looking to improve in certain areas of our game which we felt did not go quite as well as we would have liked.

“Scotland at home will be dangerous opponents, their previous results are not necessarily an indicator of a side’s potential as it takes a while to get together as a team in this tournament and we’re expecting a spirited performance off them.”
