Warriors match tonight gets the green light

TONIGHT’S televised Aviva Premiership showdown between Sale Sharks and Worcester Warriors (8pm) will go ahead.

The heated covers have worked at Edgeley Park, Stockport, creating ‘perfect’ pitch conditions, according to the hosts who are hopeful of a big crowd.

Sale head of media Dave Swanton said: “The system we use is provided by Nigel Felton via Premiership Rugby.

“After last weekend’s game against Scarlets, the covers were put in place on Tuesday morning and have been blowing warm air onto the pitch since then.

“The pitch is in perfect condition and hopefully our supporters will attend in big numbers to see our first home Premiership game of 2012.”
