IT was mission accomplished with our 37-16 Championship win at Doncaster.

We did what we set out to do and returned to Sixways with a very important win.

There was a monumental effort put in to set the pecking order straight after a close call earlier in the season.

As Richard Hill has mentioned, we are starting to grasp the ruthlessness we require not only to win this league and the play-offs, but also to be successful in the Premiership.

It was a night for the forwards at Castle Park with four out of the five tries coming from the big men.

Dominating teams up front is something the Warriors were known for years ago and now it seems we are getting to grips with it again.

With the likes of Chris Fortey and Aleki Lutui in our front row division, it is no surprise our physicality is good.

The Knights by no means made it easy for us. We had to defend for long periods of the game under plenty of pressure.

Apart from the last-minute try we conceded, overall we can be happy with this performance.

It has been a while since Sixways has seen a Boxing Day fixture and that may remain unless this weather subsides.

Nonetheless, the Moseley clash on December 26 is all set to be a huge game for both sides — and the making of either a very merry, or a very disappointing, Christmas.

The last time we met Moseley away from home, they threw everything they had at us and we survived an intense battle for the first 60 minutes. Sunday’s match promises much of the same.

The Moseley boys will be looking for what would be a huge win at Sixways to kick-start their second half of the season.

A win against us would boost their chances of a top-eight finish no-end.

Their most recent league result highlights a vast improvement against stronger opposition as Bedford struggled to a 22-15 victory.

It is all set to be an icy, yet fiery, affair.

It is a real shame that our British & Irish Cup game at Currie was cancelled last weekend after the confidence it would have gone ahead shown by the authorities north of the border.

I would like to mention those Warriors supporters who suffered because of the late call made on Friday and thank them for their efforts. I hope your weekends were not entirely wasted.

I know that our boys travelling up took full advantage of a day on the bus by playing a mammoth game of poker. From what I’ve been told, after Joe Carlisle’s man-of-the-match game the previous week, his good fortune didn’t transfer to the cards!

If everything goes to plan, please travel safely on Boxing Day and I’m looking forward to seeing you there.

Lastly, I would like to wish everyone reading a very happy Christmas and hopefully a successful new year for the Warriors.
