SIXWAYS has long been renowned for drumming up one of the best atmospheres in the Aviva Premiership – but Worcester Warriors fans now have the chance to scientifically prove they are the most passionate in the league.

Title sponsor Aviva has teamed up with the University of Bath to investigate which top-flight club has the most passionate supporters to settle the debate once and for all.

The research team will finish their season-long project at Warriors’ home clash with Exeter Chiefs on Saturday, April 14, where they will collect psychological and physiological data from 15 of the most passionate supporters during the match.

The scientists have devised an equation for passion, which is calculated from a range of tests taken on the day. They include the fan’s commitment to the team, their preview of the match and subsequent evaluation of the contest, their mood and anxiety levels and their hormone and heart rate changes.

The Worcester fans’ stats will be compared to the Chiefs supporters and then plotted into the ‘Aviva Premiership Rugby Pass-ion’ league table, which will be published at the end of the season.

Aviva are offering chosen fans a free ticket for next Saturday’s match at Six-ways, so if you are keen to show your passion for the Warriors, email your details (name, age, phone number and include ‘Worcester fan’ in the title) to avivapremiershipfans@ gmail.com.
