Since we re-opened the theatre in 2003, I have had many moments when I have been very glad and very proud that we did.
None has been stronger than on last Saturday night when I attended the last night of Titanic performed by Worcestershire Operatic and Dramatic Society (WODS).
It was magnificent, and to see a cast of more than 50 giving it their all on stage with wonderful singing and playing was just great.
As the ship went down, I'm afraid that a few tears ran down my face - partly with the sadness of the story line but also with the pleasure of the commitment and talent of the people on stage. I'll be surprised if there is a better musical amateur company in the country!
The deadline for entering an event in the Worcester Festival is upon us - well, to be honest, it's now gone. However, if you want to enter an event and are kicking yourself that you're too late, we'll still take entries until Monday. Best to contact by e-mail, chris@worcesterlive.co.uk On May 10 and 11 we have open auditions at the Swan Theatre for girls between 8-16 who would like to be considered for one of the Babes in the professional pantomime Robin Hood and the Babes In The Wood. They need to be able to sing, dance and act.
Girls cannot turn up on the day, they need to get an application pack from either Huntingdon Hall or the Swan Theatre in advance.

ASK any women if they would like to get trimmer when they walk around the shops and I’m sure I know what the answer would be.
RIGHT now, the hottest tables to be had – and conversely also the coolest – are in Malvern, where national chain Ask has opened its latest restaurant on Belle Vue Terrace.
The Malvern Hills are formed from a mixture of rocks, including granite and diorite, which are nearly 700 million years old. Granite, in particular, has long been prized as a building material, so it’s no surprise to find abundant signs of quarrying in the hills.
