THE Tomb family certainly has secrets. And the St John's Players, currently preparing to perform the comedy thriller, plan to reveal them all.

The Players - one of Worcester's longest running amateur dramatic groups - stage their version of the farcical mystery at the Swan Theatre, Worcester, next month.

Set at the reading of a will, the show is a dramatist's playground featuring a sinister looking library, a dusty lawyer, a portrait of a grim-faced, mad-eyed old man, and an eccentric family fighting over inheritance. If that is not enough, wait until the bodies begin to pile up.

As the Players rehearse for the show, under the watchful eye of director Sue Imms, they are on the look out for new members - whether they are budding actors or would-be stage hands. According to chairman Christine King, the group is a great way to make friends and have fun while enjoying theatre.

"We're a really friendly group, and although we take our plays very seriously, we like to have a lot of fun too," she said. "We meet up for social events regularly when we're not rehearsing, and we'd love to get some new members. "Tomb with a View would be a great first play for someone new to be involved in. It's light hearted entertainment, and is at our local - the Swan."

Previous experience is not necessary to become involved in the group and there are countless jobs on offer - from starring roles to administration.

Tomb with a View, written by playwright/actor Norman Robbins, runs at the Swan from Tuesday, April 1, to Saturday, April 5. For tickets call the Worcester Live box office on 01905 611427.

Anyone interested in joining St John's Players can call Rosie Phillips on 01905 457888.
