Acting icons join for Bennett’s double-bill

9:43am Friday 11th April 2008

NIGEL Havers joins Diana Quick on stage at Malvern Theatres next week.

The pair, both British acting icons, are starring in a new production of Alan Bennett's award-winning comedy Single Spies. The double-bill opened at the National Theatre in 1988 and went on to become an international hit, winning the Olivier Award for best comedy.

The two plays, An Englishman Abroad and A Question of Attribution, feature Bennett's trademark wit and poignancy.

In An Englishman Abroad, Quick plays the famous actress Coral Brown who accepts an invitation to lunch with Guy Burgess (Havers). In A Question of Attribution, Havers portrays eminent art historian Anthony Blunt.

Single Spies runs from Monday, April 14 to Saturday, April 19. For tickets, priced £17.50 - £26.50, call 01684 892277, or visit malvern-theatres.co.uk.
