ELMER the instantly-recognisable patchwork elephant trumps onto the stage of the Courtyard this month.
The brand new show, in Hereford as part of the arts venue's Kids Club, is aimed at three-to-six-year-olds and sees the much-loved multi-coloured mammal having adventures with his friends.
Based on the Elmer books by David McKees, the stage adaptation is being produced by the Birmingham Stage Company. The group, in residence at the Old Rep in London, has enjoyed success with award-winning versions of the Jungle Book and Danny the Champion of the World. David McKee's first book was published in 1964. His books are now published throughout the world.
Elmer Live on Stage runs from Monday, May 12, to Wednesday, May 14, at 11am and 1pm.
For tickets, priced £9.50 and £30 per family, call the box office on 0870 1122330 or book online at www.courtyard.org.uk
