MISS Marple visits a Worcestershire village this month.

The Colwall Players are preparing to perform Agatha Christie's A Murder Is Announced at Colwall Village Hall from Thursday, May 29, to Saturday, May 31.

The stage adaptation, directed by Marie-Louise Doherty, tells the tale of Chipping Cleghorn, a village where residents are curious over an announcement in the local Gazette inviting them to witness a murder. Unable to resist, they gather at the appointed time and, sure enough, someone dies.

The book, published in 1950, was Christie's 50th mystery novel. This 1977 adaptation by Leslie Darbon combines mystery with humour and a gallery of Christie characters.

For tickets, priced £6 and £3 concessions, call John Goodwin Estate Agency on 01684 540300.
