Information has been sent to his parents, Mr and Mrs W.G.R Stone of Tybridge House in Tybridge Street of the death at the front of their youngest son, Private Harold Stone. He was serving with the 8th Battalion of the Worcestershire Regiment and was killed during a bombardment on Monday last, being hit on the head by a shell. Before going to the front at Easter, Harold Stone was an assistant in the furniture department of Messrs W. and F. Webb of Worcester. His engaging personal qualities, good looks and frank and manly address made him many friends both in the Battalion and at home.
The parents of Private Alec Frederick Conroy of Tybridge Street, Worcester have received notice that he has been killed in action. He was only 19 years of age.
Much sympathy will be felt for the Rev C. Chaytor, Rector of St Helen’s Church, Worcester in the news of the death of his younger son, Lieutenant A.K. Chaytor of the 3rd Battalion, the Worcestershire Regiment who succumbed to wounds at a Field Hospital.
On Thursday afternoon, nearly 400 wounded soldiers were motored from Cheltenham via Evesham to Pershore and taken to the Racecourse where an excellent tea was provided. After tea they were given tobacco and cigarettes by Miss A. Webb. The weather was ideal and large numbers of townspeople went to the Racecourse to see the men who all  looked cheerful and happy in spite of their wounds.
