A PERFORMANCE depicting life during the First World War in Areley Kings, near Kidderminster, will be performed in the village's St Bartholomew’s church on October 16-17.
It has been written by local resident Mary Arden-Davis following much research, especially into the Red Cross hospital that was set up in Bleak House for the whole period of the war to treat returning soldiers.
The evening will include songs and music with visual displays. Running alongside will be an exhibition of memorabilia and artefacts in Church House, including photographs of the hospital nurses and soldiers leaving to go to war, and both evenings will conclude with a firework display.
The performances and display are open to all and anyone interested in attending should ring 01299 825791/871477/or 826011 for further information.
