Captain Martin Raymond Carr

On August 22, 1914, the Berrows Worcester Journal announced the marriage of Captain Carr to Gwendolyn Putnam. In fact the couple had married on August 6, 1914, at St. George's, Aldershot, Hampshire.
On September 18, 1914, a little over a month after the wedding, Captain Carr was killed at the Battle of the Aisne.
Born in Worcester on July 9, 1877, in Worcester, he was christened on August 23 at St. Peter Great, Worcester.
His father was Colonel Ralph Edward Carr, born 30 June 1833, of Hedgeley, Eglingham, Northumberland, who died April 9, 1892, in Stuttgart, Baden-Württemberg, Germany
His mother was Anne Jane Wedgwood, born April 9, 1841; died December 5, 1878.
They had been married on September 10, 1870, at Cosheston, Pembrokeshire, Wales.
His wife, Gwendolyn Mary Putnam, was from Greylands, Darlington, Durham. It is not known what became of her.
