The county, recently named one of the Best Places to Go in the UK & Ireland in 2024 by Condé Nast, is known for its scenic countryside and cultural heritage.
With two areas of National Landscapes (previously Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty) in Malvern Hills and Bredon Hill, visitors to the county will have a great opportunity for breathtaking views and rural walks.
Worcestershire is also packed with charming villages like Inkberrow and Broadway, which are both situated within the county's countryside.
Inkberrow, in fact, was recently named one of the prettiest villages in the UK and boasts miles of countryside walks.
Broadway, referred to as the ‘Jewel of the Cotswolds’, is a picturesque village offering an independent shopping experience against a backdrop of tree-lined High Street and Cotswold-stone buildings.
Worcestershire also offers a plethora of overnight options for visitors, ranging from lavish spa hotels to unique farmhouses, all providing an authentic regional experience.
Food lovers will appreciate the county’s ever-growing food and drink scene, particularly the award-winning Cottage in the Wood in Malvern, which offers a seven-course tasting menu using community sourced ingredients.
Worcestershire has also recently gained recognition for its wine production with Astley Vineyard and Deer Park Wines leading the way in promoting grape-to-glass wine production.
The county’s rich history can be explored through the city of Worcester and the town of Evesham.
Worcester, housing the famous Worcester Cathedral and its royal tombs, tells a thousand-year-old story.
Evesham, meanwhile, hosts England’s largest 13th-century battle re-enactment each August, commemorating the Battle of Evesham in the first weekend of August each year.
For families, Severn Valley Railway and West Midland Safari Park provide invaluable experiences of adventure for both young and old.
The Safari Park's immersive overnight experiences, in which visitors stay in luxury lodges with views of the park's most popular animals, are especially appealing, as are other animal attractions like All Things Wild, Attwell Farm Park and Little Owl Farm Park.
Finally, for the water sports enthusiasts, Worcestershire boasts plenty of waterways.
Wittering SUP and Aztec Adventure offer a blend of tranquil surroundings and excitement through their water-based activities.
