James Connell is a fully qualified NCTJ and NCE trained chief reporter at the Worcester News, Malvern Gazette, Evesham Journal and Cotswold Journal. With more than 20 years working as a reporter, James has a diverse range of experience from covering dynamic breaking news stories and court and crime stories from drug raids to murders and inquests. Originally from Northumberland, he began working on the Worcester News in January 2007. He started his career in journalism at the Slough Observer in January 2003. James has an English Literature degree from the University of Sheffield and later qualified in journalism after completing an NCTJ course at Darlington College. James is an experienced reporter who has previously specialised in health and court and crime. He now writes an eclectic range of general news stories. James loves Worcestershire and has a keen interest in the history and heritage of the county from medieval history to the English Civil War, including learning more about its beautiful, historic pubs.
