VOLKERLASER, the construction industry support company, has put its efforts into supporting a Worcester charity.
It has raised more than £1,300 for Acorns Children's Hospice through its annual fundraising event, which this year took the shape of a takeaway-style meal, quiz and raffle.
The event was held at VolkerLaser’s office on Blackpole Road, Worcester and received support from suppliers across the country, who donated raffle prizes. The company has a history of supporting both local and national charitable organisations, with recent events raising money for St Richard’s Hospice, the Worcester Food Bank and Macmillan Cancer Support.
VolkerLaser offers specialist waterproofing, strengthening and repair services to concrete, steel and brickwork structures. Some of its award-winning projects include the renovation of the St. John’s flats near Worcester city centre, and the refurbishment of Holt Fleet Bridge crossing the River Severn at Holt Heath.
It works extensively with private and local authority clients and is part of VolkerWessels UK, a multi-disciplinary construction and civil engineering group with a turnover of £850m, which employs more than 2,500 staff in six operating companies.
