Folk in the Foyer present: The Julie July Band
Julie July has built a substantial reputation on re-interpretations of Sandy Denny's songs and play a heartfelt tribute to the great singer-songwriter. In her brief Career she left a legacy of beautiful, haunting original and traditional compositions. Her most famous song “Who Knows Where the Time Goes?”, was voted favourite folk-track of all time by listeners of BBC Radio 2. The Acoustic Trio perform a selection of her songs from: Strawbs, Fairport Convention and her Solo Career. They will also perform their own material, inspired by Sandy’s work and the wider folk, rock and blues movements of the Sixties and Seventies, ‘Lady of the First Light’ is the band’s new album. From dreamy acoustic folk songs to driving progressive folk-rock with passing references to psychedelia and country.
