Alive and Brel

The iconic songs of the singer-songwriter Jacques Brel are returning to the area, as the cabaret revue ‘Alive and Brel’ will be performing at the Bosbury Parish Hall. Brel’s music is famed for its emotional power and ironic wit, featuring well-known classics such as Ne Me Quitte Pas/If You Go Away, Jacky and Amsterdam, which have been recorded by stars ranging from Dusty to Bowie. Singers Tim Brown, Alison Allan and Steve Allan offer an evening of high emotion with songs that have been likened to miniature films, laced with dark and passionate observations and which paint a tableau of imperfect humanity. The songs of Jacques Brel are guaranteed to bring a smile to your lips or a tear to your eye.
‘With wit, pathos and dark humour, ‘Alive and Brel’ was altogether a charming way to end the evening.’—Hereford Times
‘The blending of the three voices was particularly pleasing and gave the performance originality'--Stage Talk Magazine
