A FAMOUS ballet production that inspired hit Disney film Frozen is coming to Worcester this year.

The Hans Christian Andersen fairytale, The Snow Queen, will be live at The Swan Theatre from October 31.

Christopher Moore, artistic director for Ballet Theatre UK has encouraged everyone to come and see the show. He said: "I had a retired gentleman approach me after one of our shows who said that he had never been to a ballet before and was so pleased he had now done so, having enjoyed it immensely. I think it should be considered as one of life’s experiences; you’ll never know till you try it. A live show with a high visual content and rousing music will always set the heart beating faster".

The dance company behind the production has promised a glorious and magical score, with beautifully hand crafted costumes and a glittering stage set. They say The Snow Queen can be enjoyed by everyone, young and old and you don't need to be a fan of dance already, but also for those experiencing dance for the first time.

Mr Moore said: "I’ve taken traditional ballets, which to some people have become museum pieces, bringing them up-to-date for the modern audience and engaging our audiences with a passion and energy that I hope is inspiring. The dancers bring much to the company and I am able create choreography which best shows their techniques".

Ballet Theatre UK was founded in 2008 by Artistic Director, Christopher Moore and has fast become one of the best-loved touring ballet companies in the UK. Christopher is establishing himself as an innovative choreographer and he is gaining an excellent reputation, the company being listed as the Critic’s Choice in the Independent newspaper as one of the best ballet companies touring the UK.

The Snow Queen will be performed at The Swan Theatre till February 2022. Tickets can be bought online at worcesterlive.co.uk and at the box office.
