WORCESTER’S Woo Fest might be online only but a host of household names will still be appearing.
The annual multi-genre music event raises funds for St Richard’s Hospice in Worcester.
Usually staged near Upton upon Severn, it has gone from strength-to-strength since its launch in 2015, raising more than £71,000 but Covid restrictions mean it will take place virtually again this year.
Among the star performers this year are Sophie Ellis-Bextor, Toyah Willcox, Danyl Johnson, Ocean Colour Scene’s Andy Bennett, Drifta and Chimp on a Bike.
While it is free to watch, donations to St Richard’s Hospice are encouraged.
You can text CARE to 70140 to donate £15, call 01905 958 273 on the day, or visit www.strichards.org.uk/donate/virtualwoo The even has also attracted a new headline sponsor, Evans Halshaw Kia Stourbridge.
Tom Hedges, dealer principal, said: “This is a great festival with great music and all for a noble cause too.
“We’re delighted to sponsor this year’s event that should be enjoyed by many more people than the usual Woo Fest thanks to this year being a virtual event.
“We’re looking forward to enjoying the music and spreading a bit of cheer.”
