Lyonshall is an attractive village set in glorious hilly countryside near the small market town of Kington in North West Herefordshire. The Royal George has unfortunately been closed for some time but has been purchased by a local resident. He has recently been granted planning permission for his ambitious plans to restore and extend the public house by reviving its restaurant and adding a village shop, an auditorium, a cafe and a children's play area.

The area of the Civil Parish is quite large and consists of farms, some woodland and the small hamlets of Holme Marsh, Next End, The Whittern, New Street, Bullocks Mill and Woonton Ash. There are many other smaller groups of houses around the neighbourhood area.
