Beautiful, more than 1000 artists have interpreted the songs of Carole King resulting in 100 hit singles. Relive some of those iconic tunes of this amazing singer/songwriter as we follow the confident 16 year old born in Brooklyn in 1942 as she heads for New York to sell her latest song to producer Donnie Kirshner.

She meets lyricist Gerry Goffin, they become a formidable song writing partnership whilst falling pregnant, getting married and still only 17.

What a talent Daisy Wood-Davis is (Carole King) her performance is full of emotion combined with great chemistry with Goffin (Adam Gillian) the story beginning and ending at Carnegie Hall reflects on the past 13 years backed by the super talented cast performing her songs as: Neil Sedaka, The Drifters, Little Eva and The Shirelles.

Friends and rivals of King and Goffin are Cynthia Weil and Barry Mann also part of the Kirshner stable who have success with their own songs including You've Lost That Loving Feeling recorded by the Righteous Brothers.

Amongst the success for Carole and Gerry there is also heartbreak Gerry's infidelity which ultimately leads to a split in 1968 leaving her with their two children.

February 1971 sees the release of Tapestry, the album holds the US number one spot for 15 weeks, remaining in the charts for 6 years selling over 25 million copies.
