IF you want to hear French Jazz, you don’t even need to cross the Channel.
French singer, Celine Dommart and her band, Montparnasse, have been enjoying sell-out concerts and she’s on her way to Malvern with a line-up and history that owes a lot to the local scene, as well as to Parisian café culture.
Celine said: “We play mostly concerts with our double bassist - Worcester's own Paul Smith - and Warwickshire drummer Robin Payne. We've played a string of sell out concerts over the last year, the most recent of which was a sell out at MAC Birmingham.
“We also recorded an album at Vale Studios near Pershore last summer, and it was released in November, on CD only.”
Céline sings in French, English, Spanish and Italian, “opening up a whole world of music for her audience”. The date for the diary is March 17 at the Coach House Theatre in Malvern.
