IS it rock, is it folk, or is it both with the Phil Beer Band?
Find out with a concert at The Roses in Tewkesbury, this month.
A spokesman said: "The Phil Beer Band performs a unique blend of folk and roll trawled from Phil’s treasure trove of traditional tunes and American country rock.
"The highly popular line up comprises of Gareth Turner, Steve Crickett, Greg McDonald, Olivia Dunn and of course Phil Beer, and promises to deliver a lively cocktail of folk, rock, country and blues."
The spokesman added: "Over time The Phil Beer Band has evolved into a ‘Folk ‘n’ Roll’ band with country rock overtones. Throw in Phil’s blistering guitar solos, a healthy seasoning of lively tunes, banter, and a pint or three, and you know you’re in for a cracking night."
After all, the band famously guested on the Rolling Stones Steel Wheels album and Steve Harley’s Poetic Justice, so they can't be bad.
Phil himself is widely acknowledged as a popular ambassador for acoustic roots music, and as a top flight fiddler player in his own right.
The concert takes place on Wednesday May 31.
Tickets on, 01684 295074.
