FOUR girls from Malvern St James School have been offered places at two of the world’s top universities.
Anna Baird and Weiyi Zhang will read classics and engineering respectively at Oxford, while Sara Devereux and Jia Ying Yan have both been offered places at Cambridge University to read natural sciences and chemical engineering respectively.
Miss Baird said: “I am so thrilled with the prospect of studying the subject I love, with experts in their field at Oxford.
“This prestigious university enjoys a long and distinguished history in the field of classics and I am looking forward to making the most of the many opportunities on offer.”
Headmistress Patricia Woodhouse said: “This is a fantastic achievement. We are very proud of the girls gaining places at two of the world’s leading universities. These individual successes demonstrate the diversity of subjects at which girls from Malvern St James excel.
“In an increasingly competitive market, this is a brilliant achievement and continues to position MSJ as an outstanding school for girls.”
