“The name’s Eastwood... Kyle Eastwood.”

It may not have the same ring to it as an introduction from his iconic movie star father Clint but Kyle Eastwood is a world renowned artist is his own right as a jazz musician.

He grew up in Carmel, California, as the eldest son of the Dirty Harry, Escape from Alcatraz and Gran Torino actor and his childhood years were soundtracked by the records of Duke Ellington, Count Basie and Miles Davis.

On Sunday, June 9 the audience at Evehsam’s The Regal Cinema can hear the product of those early years spent rooting through his father’s music collection and family visits to the Monterey Jazz Festival.

Crediting his old man with introducing him to the joys of the bass line he signed to Candid Records in 2004 and has since gone on to tour the world extensively.

His music resonates with swing, groove and funk overtones, with the man himself saying, "my roots remain in jazz but I like adding all kinds of different flavours".

Becoming less and less the son of Clint, Kyle is being seen more as a respected musician who is considered a virtuoso bassist on electric and upright as well as a talented composer with a keen ear for great tunes as well as the subtleties of modern jazz.

Tickets are £20.

Doors open at 7pm and the show starts at 8pm.
