THE owner of a county hotel and golf course says its future is secure after new financial backers were found.

Richard Bailey took over the Bank House at Bransford, near Worcester, last summer, promising a fresh start for the venue after it suffered troubled times.

But the refurbishment programme ran into problems earlier this year after Mr Bailey’s original backer pulled out, prompting rumours that the hotel’s future could be in doubt.

However, new backing has now been secured, and Mr Bailey is now confident that the work can now continue. He said the new backers wish to remain anonymous, but their financial commitment is worth millions of pounds. Mr Bailey said: “The Bank House Hotel, Spa and Golf Club has received a spring boost with the announcement that new investors will be continuing the major refurbishment programme over the coming months.

“Not only will the bedrooms receive the benefit of the investment but a new restaurant will be opened, a day spa will be created and the function rooms will be transformed to be the perfect venue for weddings and balls or corporate meetings and events. “A new-look hotel and spa will be launched later on this year to confirm the hotel’s unique position as one of the most impressive in Worcestershire and the West Midlands.

“In the current environment of uncertainty the Bank House can stand proud and for all those looking for a premier wedding venue, a good night’s sleep, a venue for meetings or events or a decent bite to eat, the Bank House has it all with the added bonus of an established 18-hole golf course and new spa.” He said an announcement will be made later in the summer about the relaunch, but if you want to be kept up to date with the changes as they happen, sign up to the newsletter at bankhouseworcester.co.uk.
