A WORCESTER charitable trust has helped blind and partially sighted students with their studies by donating £1,000 for new technoloy.
Called Zoom Ex, the equipment has been provided by law firm Harrison Clark’s charitable trust to New College Worcester.
Anne Priestley, fund-raising manager at the college, in Whittington Road, said: “The Zoom Ex takes scanned text and converts it into to an electronic text file, which can be saved, edited and read to the student “This technology makes a huge difference to the learning and progress of our students and we are very grateful to the trust for their generous donation.”
Jonathan Brew, senior partner at Harrison Clark and trustee of the charitable trust, said: “We feel very privileged to be able to help such a valuable cause in our local community and it is wonderful to see what a difference this technology can make to the students.”
Harrison Clark’s charitable trust has raised and donated more than £100,000 to charitable causes since its inception six years ago.
