A DOTING dad has cooked up a worldwide way to raise money for the charities which have supported his disabled daughter.

Teacher Tony Frobisher, of Arran Place, St Peter’s, Worcester, has written Milla’s Cookbook, inspired by his daughter who has severe cerebral palsy.

He was looking for a less strenuous way of raising funds for Scope and Make A Wish Foundation after previous challenges had seen him climb Mount Kilimanjaro and Everest, as well as cycle from Worcester to Dublin, raising more than £20,000 in total.

However, there was a huge global response with more than 100 recipes sent to him from friends, family and students Mr Frobisher taught at Kingsway English Centre, Foregate Street, Worcester.

Milla and her twin sister Louisa, aged six, were triplets born at 24 weeks and stayed in hospital for six months before being brought home. Sadly, their sister Jewel died at two weeks’ old.

The twins’ homecoming made front page of your Worcester News in October 2006.

Mr Frobisher, 44, said: “I thought it would be a fairly small project which would get a little bit of interest but the response has been overwhelming.

“Milla has been through a lot, she has had a number of hospital visits already this year and she was in hospital in Indonesia for two weeks last year – but she battles through with a smile.”

Recipes have come in from across the world including Mongolia, Mexico, Venezuela, Iran and Australia as well as from countries all over Europe.

Prime Minister David Cameron, whose late son Ivan also had cerebral palsy, has submitted his recipe for slow roasted shoulder of lamb.

Recipes have come from television presenter and Make A Wish ambassador Kate Garraway, rugby player Jason Leonard and Olympic rower Greg Searle.

Friends have also helped the family with the mammoth task of cooking the majority of the dishes so they can be photographed for the book.

As well as the recipe book, Mr Frobisher is preparing to run the London Marathon and will cycle from John O’Groats to Land’s End in May with friends Jim Yeoman, Oliver Gross and Stuart Walker.
