WORCESTERSHIRE solicitor Peter Hill has been honoured for his outstanding contribution to the Bewdley Festival. Mr Hill, legal consultant at law firm MFG Solicitors, has been recognised as a business champion by business-focused charity Arts and Business for his commitment and dedication towards the town’s annual 10-day arts festival.

The award was presented to him through the Jaguar Land Rover-backed community campaign which aims to highlight the support professionals within the private sector give to the arts and the local community.

MFG – which has offices in Worcester, Kidderminster and Bromsgrove – has been supporting the Bewdley Festival since it began in 1989, giving free legal advice, financial support and sponsorship, with Mr Hill playing a key role as a patron and festival member.

He said: “I am extremely honoured to be a 2013 Business Champion and feel very proud to have been recognised for my involvement with an event which continues to do so much for Bewdley. “The volunteers behind Bewdley Festival have made so many remarkable achievements since 1991.

“Not only has the festival helped support the local economy by bringing people into the town, but they have attracted some amazing people and personalities who have helped Bewdley to host some truly memorable events.”

Roger Key, chairman of the Bewdley Festival, said: “Arts and Business organised the recent ceremony to say ‘thank you’ to those people who have helped arts organisations continue to thrive. “Over the years, Peter and colleagues at MFG Solicitors have been a constant beacon of support for the Bewdley Festival and have played an important role in its growth and popularity.”
