A WORCESTER man who was jailed earlier this year for drug and money laundering charges has been ordered to pay £10,000.
Ryan Stuart Harford, aged 33, of Christchurch Road, was previously jailed for three years and nine months at Worcester Crown Court.
The court has now made a confiscation order for him to pay back the money within three months, or face a further six months in prison.
An application for the order was made by West Mercia Police’s Economic Crime Unit.
Pat Kelly, from the ECU, said: “Once again, this shows that crime does not pay. We will always investigate those who have made financial gain from their crimes with a view to applying to the courts for a confiscation order.
“It is important offenders are not allowed to benefit from their crimes.”
Mr Kelly added that the police had already taken £11,887 off Harford following court proceedings for cash seizure.
