A homeowner says an alleyway is rapidly becoming a “jungle” because a housing association has not trimmed it in years.
Darren Pullen, aged 45, who lives in an end terrace house at Geraldine Close, Malvern, says the alleyway near his home has not been trimmed by its owners Festival Housing since he moved there a decade ago.
He said the grass and weeds are now four feet high in places and it is difficult to get wheelie bins along it while children riding their bikes get punctured tyres.
Mr Pullen says he has raised the issue several times on the phone and even been into Festival’s offices with photographs to illustrate the problem but, so far, nothing has been done.
He said: “I have called them four times but nobody has rung me back. It is massively overgrown. It looks like a jungle. It’s difficult to get a wheelie bin along there. It’s a struggle. I just can’t understand why no one comes to cut it. ”
A spokesman for Festival Housing said: “Mr Pullen has been in touch with our housing officer who has been out to visit the site.
“We are responsible for only a part of the alleyway – part of it was sold off to private buyers, however, we do still carry out some maintenance to retain access. Our housing officer has visited the site and says that it is fully accessible and can see no apparent issues.
“The alleyway is due for a grounds maintenance visit as part of our annual schedule which runs during the autumn/ winter period (during the summer months we concentrate on grass cutting, etc).
“Due to Mr Pullen’s concerns, a request has been posted to our grounds maintenance team to ensure that this pathway be raised as a priority for the maintenance schedule.”
