A PLUMBER is offering a reward for information which leads to the arrest of vandals he believes smashed his windscreen with a hammer.

William Blake was measuring up for a job in Cranham Drive, Warndon, Worcester, on Monday when he left his vehicle for about 20 minutes.

When he returned he found a round smash on the windscreen of his Land Rover.

“I have worked in this area and all over and I have never had a problem before,” said Mr Blake. “It looks like it’s been hit with a hammer. I can’t drive the vehicle now, so I will have to get it replaced straight away.”

Mr Blake, of Blake’s Plumbing Services, is offering a £200 reward to anyone with information leading to an arrest.

The car was taken to National Windscreens in Blackpole, Worcester, where the damage was examined. Branch manager Mick Fortey said: “It looks like it has been hit with a hammer-type object from the circle cracking – so something big and heavy.

“From experience it was definitely not an accident. It is a tall vehicle so it can’t have been something that bounced up from the road and hit the windscreen.”

Anyone who may have seen or heard anything in the area between 3pm and 3.30pm on Monday is asked to contact West Mercia Police on the non-emergency number 101, quoting incident reference number 22CA-61826K-13.
