COULD Worcester have its very own Banksy?
This mysterious piece of graffiti – which looks similar to work created by the Bristol artist – has appeared in the car park of the Worcester Arts Workshop in Sansome Street, leading to speculation that a copycat could be at large in the city.
The image is thought to have been prompted by the Government’s trial badger cull – which has been met with resistance in Worcestershire and further afield – and also makes a cheeky reference to the idea by conspiracy theorist David Icke that the world is secretly controlled by a race of alien lizards posing as figures such as the royal family.
No one in the area knew how long the image had been there or who had painted it but it is unlikely Banksy himself is behind it as he is believed to be in New York at present.
