EMERGENCY services who have protected local communities during the past week of severe flooding have been thanked by West Mercia's chief constable.
David Shaw, who also chairs the Local Resilience Form (LRF) that co-ordinates support, said: “As we move into the recovery period following our recent severe flooding events, I would like to say a huge thank you to all LRF partners and their workforces.
“The multi-agency approach to responding, warning and informing our communities has worked extremely well and I feel that efforts have been professional and well co-ordinated by all agencies.
“I would like to thank all staff who directly or indirectly supported the incident during the last week.
“The recovery phase will still require huge efforts during the coming weeks, therefore the partnership working will also continue.”
