YOUNG visitors to Worcester Cathedral enjoyed getting their hands dirty making clay gargoyles.
The youngsters were inspired by some of the uglier stone carvings which decorate the cathedral to create their own funny faces during the free half-term activity.
The clay working on Tuesday, February 18, was one of a number of free activities, located in the main nave and around the cathedral.
Others included children and adults helping to create a large flower collage and following a fruit and flower trail hidden amongst the historic tiles, carvings and statues.
Families also hired a safari back pack from the Cathedral shop to help discover wild animals lurking in the cathedral.
Sara Hayward who organised the activities, is an artist and the cathedral’s assistant education officer.
She said: “We were very pleased with the number of children who came and got involved with our events on Tuesday and have continued to come during the week to take part in the trails.
"We will organise similar fun things for families to do in future school holidays.”
