AN eye-catching pink elephant is the new mascot for a Ronkswood-based charity.
Emily the Elephant, who was designed by Frenzy Creative, will be representing New Hope at events and delighting young children.
Charity founder Jean Wilson explained that they named the character after her 11-year-old daughter because she was the reason the charity was set up.
"Emily the Elephant will be appearing at fetes and charity events and will be greeting children and representing New Hope.
"She is very cheerful and very colourful and we named after my daughter because, without her, New Hope wouldn't have started."
Emily the Elephant will make her first appearance at an afternoon tea in St Andrew's Town Hotel on Sunday, June 29.
