ONCE again your Worcester News has joined Worcester Lions Club to run the Summer Community Grant Scheme.
The scheme sees the Lions Club give away a total of £1,500 to local community groups.
The initiative, which started in 2013, is now inviting applications from interested groups.
Applicants need not be registered charities, but must explain in detail what the money would be used for.
Community groups could benefit by up to £300 each.
Previous recipients have included: the Monday Night Club in, Guys
Footprints, Asha Women’s Centre, Kaleidoscope, Worcestershire
Pensioners Action Group, Good Soil Project, Aspie, Worcestershire Parents and Carers Council, Hereford and Worcester Dyslexia Association, Friends of King George V Playing Fields, Art In
Minds, Acton Mill Care Farm, St Paul’s Hostel, Worcester Opera and Drama Society, Oropharyngeal Cancer Support Group and New Hope.

Applicants must include the full name of the organisation, a contact name and telephone number, how much money is being applied for and a clear explanation of how the money will be used.
The closing date for applications is Wednesday, May 28.
