BOATS had to be deployed to rescue a man from the embankment of the River Severn this morning.
Two boats, each from Worcester and Droitwich fire crews, attended the scene at Bromwich Parade, Worcester, after a man hurt his shoulder and couldn't pull himself back up the embankment.
A spokeswoman for Herefordshire and Worcestershire Fire Control said: "It is unknown how the male became hurt and stuck, but the boats were deployed as it was easier to reach him via the water than on the embankment due to his shoulder injury."
Fire Control received a call from a member of the public at 9.20am, and a paramedic unit also attended and stabilised the man. The rescue was completed by 10am.
