AN EQUESTRIAN accessories shop in Stourport threw its support behind a national event raising awareness of the importance of wearing a helmet while horse riding earlier this month.
As part of International Helmet Awareness Day on Saturday, July 12 Equimix Saddlery Shop in Sandy Lane offered special offers on hats and a prize draw for a top of the range Charles Owen Four Star helmet, which was won by Kidderminster riding instructor Katie Fox.
The national event is run by Riders 4 Helmets, which was founded by American Olympic rider Courtney King-Dye, after she suffered a traumatic brain injury when she fell from her horse in 2010.
