PEOPLE will be bowled over when an author signs copies of his new young adult novel Jimmy Cricket at The Hive on Friday.

Kevin Brooke, member of Worcester Writers' Circle will be holding the book launch in The Studio between 5.30pm and 7pm.

A regular contributor to the poetry section in the Berrow's Journal, Kevin was thrilled when publisher Black Pear Press approached him about Jimmy Cricket. He said: "There's no more exciting yet terrifying time in your life than early to mid-teens.

"Seen through the eyes of the main character, Jimmy Latham, this story shows how teenagers can, with the right support, survive just about anything."

"I think adults will enjoy the story as well.

"It may even give the parents the opportunity to find out what their sons and daughters are really getting up to"

Jimmy Cricket is available direct from Black Pear Press, blackpear.net, and from Amazon.

Admission is free.
