THREE county schools will be releasing balloons from Sabrina Bridge in Worcester on Wednesday to celebrate the start of a new trust seeing them join together.

St Clements C E Primary School in Henwick Road, Worcester, Cutnall Green C E First School in Droitwich and Heronswood Primary School in Kidderminster will form the first mixed school C of E Academy Trust in Worcestershire.

The Rivers C. of E. Academy Trust will officially open on Wednesday (Oct 1) and to launch it in style all three schools will be aiming to release coloured balloons at the same time across the county.

Robin Walker MP and representatives from each of the three school council members will be releasing balloons from Sabrina Bridge in celebration of the grand opening.

Kathryn Brunt, executive principal across all three schools, said she has been working very closely with Robin Walker and Lord Nash regarding the setting up of this new and exciting venture, which the trust says will improve the lives of the children.

"We are a group of three good and outstanding schools spread across the county; all varying in size, economic, social backgrounds and religion, however we all share the same vision which is to ensure that each and every child leaves us fulfilling their maximum potential, and ready for the next stage of their learning journey at secondary school," she said.

"Becoming a Multi Academy Trust will allow us to set a strong, shared strategic vision across all the schools in the partnership.

"Because the Multi Academy Trust is accountable for the outcomes for all pupils in the partnership it can be an excellent mechanism for ensuring that support and challenge is directed to where it is needed most, thus raising standards and attainment.

"Children across all three schools will have access to a greater range of teaching expertise and opportunities for experiences."
