GROUPS aiming to improve local policing in Worcestershire are looking for more people to get involved.

Independent Advisory Groups exist around the county to offer critical advice to the police.

They meet every two or three months and are formed by volunteers from the community who provide independent advice on policing matters, with the aim of improving the quality by being the crucial link between the community and the police.

Anybody can get involved providing they are interesting in policing and its local impact and are prepared to give independent criticism and advice.

There are local groups for each area of West Mercia Police and Warwickshire Police as well as three protected characteristic groups; black and minority ethnic, disability and lesbian, gay, bisexual and trans, which cover the whole area.

Anyone who would like to get involved in Worcestershire and Herefordshire should contact Adrian Symonds on adrian.symonds:westmercia.pnn.police.uk or 01905 331073.
