THERE were no serious injuries despite a car smashing into the porch of a Worcester house.

The occupant of the property, in Windermere Drive, "heard a bang" after a blue Vauxhall Astra parked on the driveway smashed into the front of the property.

West Mercia Police comfirmed the incident happened at around 2pm, on Thursday, March 12 after a Corsa, with four people in it, left the road and hit the parked Astra, but no one was seriously injured.

The force of the impact pushed the Astra into the house, meaning the occupant couldn't leave the property.

Fire crews from Malvern and Droitwich attended the scene also, and made the property safe.

A spokeswoman for Herefordshire and Worcestershire Fire and Rescue Service said: "Crews from Droitwich and Malvern attended the scene where a mid-terrace property had been damaged.

"There was one person inside the property but they could not exit due to the damage at the front of the house.

"Crews used timber to shore up the wall."
