A GROUP of University of Worcester students will deliver a special performance at a charity dinner.

Second year students from the university have been invited to perform at the Secret Elephant Show on Thursday (March 26).

The event has been organised by Onside Independent Advocacy, a Worcester-based charity which supports people disadvantaged by ill-health, disability, or learning difficulties.

Students will perform original and innovative pieces at various points throughout the evening, in front of an audience of around 250 people.

Alison Reeves said: "We were approached by Onside to see if we could provide a performance for their charity dinner.

"The opportunity fitted in perfectly with our module on applied theatre and so the students got to work on devising a set of four performances to be staged in between courses during the evening.

"As part of this, they have produced a giant elephant, which will be used during the performance.

"This is a fantastic opportunity for our students to experience what it’s like to devise and perform a production for a real audience at an independent event."

Seventeen students are involved in the performance at the show, which takes place at the Bank House Hotel in Bransford.
