STUDENTS from Dines Green Community Primary School have been taking part in a range of science themed activities, which were all packed into a suitcase.
The initiative, called Science in a Suitcase which was undertaken by visiting scientist Selwyn Van Zeller, provides children with a range of activities and experiments aimed at increasing attitudes and curiosity towards the subject, and even gave parents an opportunity to take part too.
Sara Longmire, head teacher of the school, said: "The children really got their heads down and worked out the reasons behind what happened during the scientific experiments.
"The parent’s session, which was held after school, was also a great success and allowed parents to get thoroughly involved whilst sharing the activities that the children had been involved in during the day."
Science in a Suitcase came after the children took part in The Big Bang Festival, the largest celebration of science, technology and maths for young people in the UK.
