STUDENTS from a Worcester school will be getting help towards their Duke of Edinburgh Awards from staff at the county council.

Workers at Worcester Woods Country Park are helping pupils from Nunnery Wood High School to get the award, which recognises young people's personal development.

The year 10 students are planting trees, clearing paths, picking up litter and carrying out other tasks to help the management of the country park.

Tanya Feasey, Worcestershire County Council's assistant countryside sites officer, said: "It's wonderful getting younger visitors to help us with the works on site.

"All of them are showing bags of enthusiasm and an interest in the work they're doing."

People interested in finding out more about the scheme should call Tanya Feasey on 01905 766493.
