A Worcester school saw the lowest percentage of pupils reach levels 5 or 6 in English, maths and science at key stage 3 for all of Worcestershire.

Elgar Technology College, pictured with headmaster Tony James, came bottom in the county for all three subjects in the league tables published today, but declined to comment on the results when approached by the Worcester News. The Bilford Road school saw 42 per cent of its pupils achieve level 5 or above in English, and only 13 per cent reach level 6 or above. This compared to a county average of 74 per cent for level 5 and 36 per cent for level 6. In maths, 58 per cent of pupils reached level 5 while 35 per cent of pupils got level 6, and in science, the level 5 percentage was 51 per cent, with 20 per cent reaching level 6.
