THIRTEEN has been a lucky number for the people of Crowle, judging by the success of the community's 10K challenge and fun run.

The first race took place 13 years ago, and the next race, in what is becoming a popular local tradition, will take place on Sunday May 10.

A race spokesman said: "It is now 13 years since the first 10K race in the village. It has grown and become a date in many running clubs’ diaries. We have a reputation for a well organised family event that is well supported by the village. The race is a serious but enjoyable run for the contestants who often pound the streets in cities and look forward to a day in the country."

The two children's races will take place from 10.30am, and the 10k run will start at 11.30am.

The mustering point will be the Parish Hall.
